Goodness, I just fell right off there once the A to Z Challenge was completed, didn’t I?
Apologies.
I guess that’s what happens when a hobbyist’s best intentions collide with present time necessities 🙂
Alas, I am still alive and kicking (or up and not crying, if you will) after a May filled with a respiratory illness and then all the farm tasks and chores one might imagine to get the garden in and the property prepped for high growing season.
And now, faced with a few hours to myself this week while my family is on a trip and my task list feels do-able, I thought I’d poke my head back in the door here and say HELLO!
I do still intend to write a reflection piece about my A to Z Challenge participation so as to properly honor the experience and my success in completing it, but right now I’m sticking to simple tasks like updating my About page and contemplating adding the shop back onto the site.
Anyone up for some fun genie merch?
I am also thinking about my Grandma Eve and a reflection she wrote about the one time she and my Grandpa Phil moved the family out of NYC and into the country for some peace and quiet.
Both of them being freelancers (a writer and an artist, they were), they thought they’d have plenty of time to get their work done and enjoy the fresh air while they were at it.
What’s that saying about best laid plans?
Yeah, well…their visions didn’t quite fall in the way they’d hoped and they found themselves quite quickly back in Manhattan.
I’ll have a look for Eve’s snippet of country life and share it here when I get my hands on it.
In the meantime, I hope your May has been filled with all the things you needed it to be filled with and your slide into June is a smooth one.
Do tell… What have you been up to? Any big plans for the summer months?
Onward,
Melissa
